184 irregular migrants rescued off the coast of Izmir


Coast Guard teams rescued a total of 184 irregular migrants, 38 of whom tried to go abroad illegally and 146 of whom were pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, off the coast of Dikili, Karaburun and Çeşme districts of İzmir.

Coast Guard Command teams rescued 53 irregular migrants who were found to be pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements off the coast of Dikili district at different times.

Again, 30 irregular migrants pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements off the coast of Karaburun district were rescued by Coast Guard teams.

In addition, 63 irregular migrants pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements at different times off the Çeşme district were rescued, while 38 irregular migrants trying to go abroad illegally were caught by the teams.

Irregular migrants landed were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management after their procedures.
