192 irregular migrants rescued off the coast of Izmir


While 105 irregular migrants pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements off the Çeşme, Seferihisar and Dikili districts of İzmir were rescued by teams, 87 irregular migrants and 2 suspects of migrant smugglers trying to go abroad illegally were caught by the Coast Guard Command teams.

Coast Guard Command teams rescued 45 irregular migrants in rubber boats, which were determined to be pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements off the Çeşme district at different times.

While 87 irregular migrants and 2 suspected migrant smugglers were caught in a moving sailing boat that was stopped off the coast of Seferihisar district, 24 irregular migrants in a rubber boat, which were determined to have been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued by teams off Seferihisar district.

In addition, 36 irregular migrants in rubber boats pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements off the coast of Dikili district were also rescued by the Coast Guard Command teams.

Irregular migrants landed were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management after their procedures.
