Alacasu (Cennet) Bay, located within the borders of Beydağları Coastal National Park in Antalya, was leased to a private company for 20 years.
The famous Alacasu (Cennet) Bay, within the borders of Beydağları Coastal National Park in Antalya Kemer, was leased to an Ankara-based company as a “Daily Use Area”. The company, which received the tender held on July 13, will operate the bay for 20 years (7+13). An entrance gate to the bay and structures for daily use will be built.
Alacasu Bay and its surroundings, which were leased to a private company, are also within the 1st degree archaeological site that defines the borders of the ancient city of Phaselis. According to the tender information, construction will be carried out in accordance with the relevant regulation in the area.
In the announcement, the information is given: “Alacasu Daily Usage Area Door Entrance Fee, operation and operation of the buildings and facilities included in the Layout Plan and Architectural Projects in the annex of the specification, and the operation of the area arrangements”.
FREE TO PRIVATE SECTOR, PROHIBITED TO CITIZENS ON THE SITE
Thus, the administration, which did not drive nails to the citizens in the protected area, gave permission to the private company to organize the building and facilities and the area. Even the construction of toilets for the compulsory needs of citizens living in protected areas is penalized.
BAY ONE IN THE REGION ARE LEASED TO THE PRIVATE SECTOR
Alacasu Bay, which has been overlooked for years from rubble spilling, natural destruction and all kinds of abuse, was one of the meeting areas of both the local people and the citizens from all over the country in the region occupied by the hotels.
First, Kındılçeşme was rented, then the Cleopatra Bay in Tekirova was leased to a proponent company. After the lawsuit filed by the local people and professional chambers, the initiative was stopped.
According to the news in Evrensel, Beydağları Coastal National Park, which starts after the Sarısu region in the west of Antalya and extends to the borders of Kumluca, was 69,800 hectares in 1972. The September 12 administration, Özal and subsequent governments have cut the park step by step and allocated the public lands to hotels and similar investments. Today, the borders of the national park have decreased to 31 thousand 165 hectares.
In the last 50 years, more than half of the national park has been allocated either to private companies or public institutions for one reason or another, or it has been taken out of the area to be an operational forest.
COMMON ASSETS OF THE PEOPLE HAS BEEN A TOOL TO PROVIDE RAIN TO THE COMPANIES
Alacasu Bay is the last natural paradise leased from the Beydağları Coastal National Park to the private sector. It is among the constitutional responsibilities of the public authority to protect and use such areas in line with the “public interest” and without turning the natural heritage, which is the common property of the whole nation, into a means of generating income. However, in the last 50 years, the convenience of gaining wealth by using the country’s natural assets without producing any value in Turkey has been eating away at the geography of the country step by step. There are significant problems in the use of many natural areas such as Alacasu Bay. Unclaimed natural areas are turned into a means of rent for various reasons.
