The amount of support to be provided to all fishing vessels operating in inland waters and fishing vessels less than 12 meters in length operating at sea in 2021 and 2022 has been determined.
The Presidential Decision regarding the enactment of the Decree on Registration and Support of Traditional Coastal Fisheries entered into force as of January 1, 2021, by being published in the Official Gazette.
With the decision, the issues regarding the registration support of traditional coastal fisheries to be implemented in 2021 and 2022 were determined.
Accordingly, support will be provided to all fishing vessels operating in inland waters and fishing vessels smaller than 12 meters in length, which have a valid fisheries license, in return for the collection of data on fisheries management, recording the products caught and their quantities, and their socioeconomic status.
For sea and inland water fishing vessels of 0-4.99 meters in length, 1000 liras per piece, 1250 liras for 5-7.99 meters, 1350 liras for 8-9.99 meters, 10-11.99 meters of sea fishing vessels 1450 TL support payment will be made for ships and inland water fishing vessels larger than 10 meters.
Ships with a permit in Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Istanbul, Kocaeli, Tekirdağ and Yalova, which have a coast on the Sea of Marmara and fish in the sea, will be paid double the unit support for this year alone.
Since the support payments are public resources, they will not be subject to foreclosure, execution, assignment and similar transactions before they are transferred to the account of the right holder.
The financing required for the payments will be met from the agricultural support budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for 2021 and 2022.
