The Russian state-owned gas company Gazprom plans to double its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production by 2025.
Pavel Sedov, who is responsible for liquefied natural gas (LNG) of Gazprom Export, the export unit of Russian natural gas giant Gazprom, stated that they want to double the LNG supply from 2025.
Sedov said in a statement that they aim to meet the growing demand of Asia. Gazprom’s LNG export in 2020 was 7 million tons.
FIRST CARBON-FREE LNG SHIPPING TO EUROPE IN THE NEAR FUTURE
On the other hand, Gazprom plans to supply its first carbon-free liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo to Europe.
“I hope we will supply our first fully carbon neutral LNG cargo to Europe in the near future,” Sedov said.
Carbon neutral LNG includes companies supporting nature-based projects that reduce emissions to offset emissions from the discovery and production of LNG.
