Jan De Nul Wins Dogger Bank Wind Turbine Installation Contract for New JackUp

Jan De Nul Group has been awarded a contract for the transport and installation of 87 turbines at the Dogger Bank C wind farm off the coast of Yorkshire, England.

The contract award is the third award for Jan De Nul related to the Dogger Bank project. The 3.6 GW Dogger Bank Wind Farm will be the world’s largest, developed in three 1.2 GW phases (A, B and C). With the latest award, Jan De Nul has plans to install a total of 277 wind turbine generators.

For Dogger Bank C, Jan De Null will transport and installed 14 MW turbines using its new offshore jackup vessel Voltaire, which is currently under construction and due for delivery 2022.

The first two phases, Dogger Bank A and B, each feature 95 units of 13 MW turbines. They are a joint venture between Equinor (40%), SSE Renewables (40%) and Eni (20%).

The third phase, Dogger Bank C, is being developed on a different timeframe and is owned by SSE Renewables (50%) and Equinor (50%). Dogger Bank C is planned to reach financial close by the end of 2021.

When complete, Dogger Bank will generate enough energy to power over 6 million UK homes every year.

Securing this stateoftheart vessel for all three phases of Dogger Bank Wind Farm is another reminder of how we’re working with our suppliers to drive innovation in offshore wind.”
