Naga 7, a self-rising offshore platform called the jack-up platform belonging to Velesto Energy, sank in Sarawak, Malaysia.
In a statement from Velesto Energy, it was announced that the incident occurred on May 3.
The platform first tilted on its side and then completely submerged in the same position. It was stated that the accident occurred before the drilling activities started and the well was not drilled.
All personnel on board are reported to be safe and the majority have been transferred to Miri, Sarawak. Velesto said he is investigating the incident and considering options as rescue efforts continue.
