Poland will not renew its natural gas purchase contract with Gazprom, which expires in 2022.
Piotr Naimski, responsible for Poland’s strategic energy infrastructure, has announced that it has no intention of renewing its contracts with the Russian public gas company Gazprom, which will expire in 2022.
Naimski stated that they expect to start receiving natural gas on the Baltic Pipeline as of October 2022.
NORWAY GAS INSTEAD OF RUSSIAN GAS
The gas supply agreement signed in 1996 between Polish energy company PGNiG and Gazprom will expire in 2022.
The Baltic Pipeline, which Poland expects to receive gas from October 1, 2022, will transport gas from northern Norway to Denmark and Poland.
