Warning signs for carettas were erected on the Karataş coast

Warning signs have been erected in the spawning areas of sea turtles on the coast of Karataş district of Adana.

Warning signs were erected at the event, attended by Mayor Necip Topuz, on Harbiş beach in Karataş, which is among the important breeding areas of the caretta caretta sea turtles, which are under protection all over the world.

Witnessing sea turtles laying their eggs in their nests, Mayor Topuz said, “We want to raise awareness thanks to the signs we put up on these beaches. We will inform our citizens who will come and visit the beach that there are nests here, so that these nests will not be destroyed,” he said.

Topuz said, “We are erecting these warning signs so that our puppies can sail from Karataş beaches to the oceans in the healthiest way. It is our duty to protect them.”
